THE Gold Coast has won an international tug-of-war for the multimillion-dollar production of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
“In one of the Australian film industry’s most hotly-contested marketing campaigns, Queensland fought fierce interstate and international competition for this coveted project and is now in final discussions to become the enchanted world of Narnia,” said Ms Bligh.
Cult child-star Georgie Henley is expected to come to the Gold Coast to star as Lucy Pevensie while other cast listed include Ben Barnes, Eddie Izzard, Skanda Keynes and Will Poulter

Georgie has been nominated in the Young artist Awards for best performance in a feature film/ Leading Young Actress, along Abigail Breslin, Madeline Carroll, Dakota Fanning, and Keke Palmer; She is also nominated along all the Prince Caspian cast for best performance in a feature film/ Young Ensemble Cast..Awards Envelopes will be opened on Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Globe Theater, Universal Studios, Universal City. Congrats Georgie!!!!
